When I was leaving for work this morning, I noticed my neighbor across the street was cleaning their garage, and had put out a small junk pile on the curb that had a couple of nice mountain bikes in it that interested me. I can’t go over and knock on their door because I don’t get home from work until 11 or 12 at night. (I don’t think they would appreciate someone banging on their door at that time of night.) The trash pickup is tomorrow morning. Should I just walk across the street and take the bikes when I get home from work? I know it’s in a junk pile, but to me it just doesn’t seem right to just take it without them knowing. Maybe I could get some advice on what to do?
Well, I can’t do it during the day because I’m at work currently.
If they are still sitting in the junk pile on the curb when you get home, get them.
Mountain Bike Reaches Speed of 130.7 mph – VOA Story

Mountain biker Markus Stoeckl set a new world speed record in the series downhill mountain bike class this past week when he blazed down a 6,500-foot, 45-degree snow track at the La Parva ski resort in the Central Andes of Chile and hit a max speed of 130.7 mph.
The 33-year-old shattered the eight-year-old world record by 14 mph despite poor weather conditions, and the fact that his protective visor was so fogged, he was forced to hold his breath for the entire 40-second run.
“I knew that this would be my only chance,” he said, in a news release.
But here at Outside, we know the entire time he was thinking, “please God, don’t let this end like him.”

Hi, im buying a new mountain bike and have seen several I like online. By coincidence the shops im interested in list their bike sizes as xsmall, small, medium, large and xlarge. But in all their sizing guidelines they list the bikes frames sizes in inches, with no mention of sml, med or lrg etc.
Does anyone know what are the size of the frames in inches for each of these XS, S, M , L and XL sizes?
Cheers!
I know this is confusing. It varies by brand. Also, there are at least 3 different methods of measuring frame size. I’ve put some of the best links below to help you educate yourself on frame sizing.
Before you buy, make sure you know exactly how/where your seller is measuring the frame and get them to translate the S M L scheme to inches. Sorry to say that this will vary not only by brand but also by seller. Make sure you get it right, because fit is important. If you have to err at all, err on the small size, as seatpost and stem adjustments can make up for a frame that is on the smallish size.

What is a good brand for Mountain Bikes?
Author: admin
I am just starting to get into Mountain biking and I am looking to buy a bike for a reasonable price. I want to buy something used probably off of craigslist or something like that. I am just looking to see which brands are good and which brands I should stay away from.
Look for any good name and one Mongoose is not the same as another one…stay away from dept store ANYTHING! Look for Trek, specialized, Giant, Gary Fisher, Kona, GT…..the list goes on. There are many things to look for when buying used mountain//road bikes as you never know how "honest" the seller is and how well they represent their item for sale. I suggest that since you dont know how to shop for something (to prevent you from getting screwed) you go visit your local shops first and get educated before you start looking and learn some of the ins and outs before you buy something you will regret. Even a brand name off of C-list can be a bad buy! That is a small part of the downside, you might actually score something good though….?
